Powerball jackpot moves to $90 million Wednesday; 3 second prize tickets sold

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune is going to be up for grabs on Wednesday, when Powerball game has $90 million on the line. The cash option will be a projected $62.3 million up for grab. Powerball's jackpot rose because nobody matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number drawn Saturday night. The winning numbers from Saturday night, April 17th, 2021 were 10, 21, 26, 41, 49 with Power Ball 25. The Powerball grand prize has been growing for 123 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. One lucky winner from Michigan won the $70.00 million top prize in Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 drawing.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were 3 lucky players that matched the first 5 numbers and won the 2nd prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(2) and Texas(1) will collect $1 million cash.
Also, 8 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash! Other winners Saturday evening included 269 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 75 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but additionally bought the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Saturday evening included 649 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 204 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With nine ways to win, there were 500,679 tickets across the nation won a total of $0 prizes in the Saturday, April 17th, 2021 drawing.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which increases the prizes but not grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners may select one lump sum cash payout option instead.
