Wednesday's Powerball jackpot builds to $176,000,000; 3 second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in the Powerball multi-state lottery game has been rolled up to $176,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout will be $$89.4 million. The prize amount was rolled over because nobody hit all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number in Monday's $165,000,000 drawing. The next Powerball game drawing is Wednesday night. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, September 16th, 2024 were 08-09-11-27-31 with Power Ball number 17.
While the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There were 3 lucky players that matched the first 5 white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one ticket(s) in TX matched the first five numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $2 million cash win! This is part of the Powerball game feature that guarantees a certain multiplier on all match 5 white ball winners that also have the Power Play option doubling the second prize to $2 million cash.
