The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $1,300,000,000

The Powerball lottery jackpot increased because no player matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number from Monday night's $1,100,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot rolled up to $1,300,000,000 for Wednesday night's drawing. The cash option stands at $$589 million. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, September 1st, 2025 were 08-23-25-40-53 and Powerball was 05.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Monday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. There were 12 lucky winners matched all 5 numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 10 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in CA(1), FL(1), KY(1), MA(1), MI(1), NJ(2), NY(1), PA(1) and VA(1) won 1 million dollar cash. The other 2 second prize winner(s) from MT(1) and NC(1) also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other prizes won Monday evening included 124 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 25 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!
With nine different ways to win, the Monday night's drawing generated 4,562,732 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which increases the winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
