Monday's Powerball jackpot goes to $315,000,000; 1 player matched the first five numbers

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize jumped to $315,000,000 (cash value $$154.9 million) Monday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $295,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Saturday, October 5th, 2024 drawing were 02, 12, 46, 52, 65 and Powerball was 03. No one won the Powerball grand prize in the past 20 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. One lucky player from CA walked away with $44,000,000 top prize in Monday, August 19th, 2024 drawing.
While there was no jackpot winner Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was only one lucky winner correctly matched the first five lotto numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in SC will collect $1,000,000 cash.
Additional prizes won Saturday night included 15 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other prizes won Saturday evening included 330 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 116 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! 906 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 228 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to win a total win of $200 each.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 733,790 tickets across the nation won $0 prizes in the Saturday, October 5th, 2024 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 69 and choose a Powerball number from 1 to 26. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners can select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
