Monday's Powerball jackpot builds to $141,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

Monday's Powerball grand prize increased to $141,000,000, since nobody hit all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number drawn Saturday night. The cash option for Monday will be a projected $$62 million. Saturday's $131,000,000 is the total payout - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annuity. The winning numbers drawn Saturday night, May 23rd, 2026 were 04-16-41-48-66 and Powerball number was 26. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for nine draws since Monday, May 4th, 2026. The last jackpot was won by two tickets sold in FL and TX, matched all six numbers and shared a $20,000,000 top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single ticket that matched the first five lotto numbers and won the second prize. The one ticket(s) in WV matched the first 5 lotto numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $2 million cash win!
In addition, 9 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 3 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
With nine different prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing produced 481,047 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which multiplies the prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
