The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing soars to $865,000,000

The jackpot in America's favorite Powerball lottery is on the move. Since no one correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers and the Powerball number in Monday's drawing, the grand prize will build to a projected $865,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $$416.1 million up for grab. The numbers from Monday, March 25th, 2024 drawing were 07, 11, 19, 53, 68 with Power Ball 23. The Powerball jackpot has been rolling over for 36 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were two 2nd prize winners from Monday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(1) and New York(1) won 1 million dollar cash.
Also, 41 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 7 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! In addition, 982 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 239 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Monday evening included 2409 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 687 additional tickets at this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine different prize levels, the Monday night's drawing generated 1,549,701 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Powerball uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball grand prize are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
