Big Powerball jackpot up for grabs Monday night

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize climbed to $335,000,000 (cash value $$157.3 million) Monday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $320,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn Saturday night, March 8th, 2025 were 02, 04, 16, 23, 63 and Powerball was 13. The Powerball jackpot has been rolling over for 21 draws since Monday, January 20th, 2025. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in OR, matched all six numbers for a $331,000,000 top prize.
While the jackpot was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was only one lucky player that matched all 5 numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in TX will collect $1 million cash.
In addition, 28 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 9 additional players not just matched 4+1, but additionally bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Saturday night included 421 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 140 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but additionally bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Saturday night included 1074 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $100. 378 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine different prize tiers, there were 715,523 tickets across the nation won a total of $0 prizes in the Saturday, March 8th, 2025 drawing.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Powerball uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play, which increases the prizes but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can choose one time lump sum cash payout instead.
