Wednesday's Powerball jackpot rises to $41,000,000; 1 ticket won the second prize

The Powerball lottery jackpot has jumped up to a projected $41,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$19.4 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The grand prize amount has been rolled over because no one hit all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $29,000,000 grand prize Monday night. The numbers from Monday, July 8th, 2024 drawing were 20, 22, 31, 33, 45 and Powerball was 01.
Although there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a sole lucky ticket correctly matched all five white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in NJ won $1,000,000 cash.
Additional prizes won Monday night included 4 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional players not only matched 4+1, but also bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! In addition, 144 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 49 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 293 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 102 additional players not only matched 3+1, but in addition bought the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine ways to win, the Monday night's drawing produced 234,368 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is an American popular lottery game offered in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the original winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
