Powerball jackpot goes to $179,000,000; Three players won the second prize

The Powerball jackpot has been pumped up to an estimated $179,000,000 (cash value $$80.8 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Saturday night. The grand prize amount has been carried over because no one hit all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number to take the $156,000,000 grand prize Wednesday night. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, January 14th, 2026 were 06, 24, 39, 43, 51 with Power Ball number 02. No one won the Powerball grand prize in the past nine draws since Saturday, December 27th, 2025. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in AR, matched all six numbers for a $1,700,000,000 top prize.

Though the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were three tickets that correctly matched all five numbers and won the 2nd prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in TX won 1 million dollar cash. The other one second prize winner(s) from TN also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!

Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 8 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. There were 5 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!

With nine different prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 411,419 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.

Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
