Saturday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $263,000,000; Two second prize tickets sold

With no winner in the last drawing, the Powerball game jackpot will be worth $263,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$117.7 million) the next time the multistate lottery is played on Saturday. The amount rolled over since no player hit all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $240,000,000 grand prize Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday night, January 8th, 2025 were 01, 20, 36, 38, 43 with Power Ball 24. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for fourteen draws since Monday, December 9th, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in NY, matched all six numbers for a $260,000,000 top prize.

Though there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were two 2nd prize winners from Wednesday night's drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in OH won $1 million cash. The other one second prize winner(s) from IN also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2 million cash win!

Also, 10 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 1 additional players not only matched 4+1, but additionally bought the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
