Powerball jackpot jumps to $78 million Saturday, February 20th, 2021; One ticket won the second prize

The grand prize in the multi-state Powerball drawing grew to $78 million for the Saturday drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $57.1 million up for grab. No ticket sold for Wednesday's $66 million drawing matched five white ball numbers plus the Powerball number. The winning numbers from Wednesday night, February 17th, 2021 were 01-15-21-32-46 with Power Ball number 01. The Powerball grand prize has been rolling over for 106 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a $70.00 million top prize.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was only one 2nd prize winning ticket from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching all 5 lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The one second prize ticket(s) from Pennsylvania matched all 5 white ball numbers and also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other major winners Wednesday night included 1 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 3 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
With nine different prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 409,604 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the prizes except grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The chances of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners can choose one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
