Powerball jackpot goes to $172,000,000 Saturday night; One ticket won the second prize

The jackpot in the Powerball multi-state lottery game has been rolled up to $172,000,000. The cash value will be an estimated $$79.7 million. The prize amount was rolled over because no player matched all 6 winning numbers in Wednesday's $154,000,000 drawing. The next Powerball drawing is Saturday night. The numbers from Wednesday, February 12th, 2025 drawing were 21, 32, 36, 45, 49 and Powerball number was 18. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 11 draws since Monday, January 20th, 2025. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in OR, matched all six numbers for a $331,000,000 top prize.
Although the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There was only one lucky player that matched all five lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one ticket(s) in MS matched the first 5 white ball numbers with the Power Play for an incredible 2 million dollar cash win!
Additional major winners Wednesday evening included 12 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
With nine prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing created 374,037 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 69 then select a Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which multiplies the winnings but not grand prize. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners may select one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
