Powerball jackpot climbs to $69,000,000 Wednesday, December 18th, 2024; 1 second prize ticket sold

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize increased to $69,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$32.2 million) Wednesday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $55,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Monday night, December 16th, 2024 were 09, 30, 33, 57, 61 and Powerball number was 17.

Even though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There was only one second prize winning ticket from Monday night's drawing, matching the first five white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The one ticket(s) in CO matched the first five white ball numbers with the Power Play for an incredible 2 million dollar cash win!

Additional prizes won Monday night included 4 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!

With nine ways to win, there were 280,960 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Monday, December 16th, 2024 drawing.

Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 69 and choose one Powerball number from 1 to 26.
