No jackpot winning ticket sold last night. Powerball jackpot leaps to $500,000,000

The Powerball grand prize has been pumped up to an estimated $500,000,000 (cash value $$240.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The jackpot amount has been rolled over since nobody matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $477,000,000 grand prize Monday night. The numbers from Monday night, December 11th, 2023 were 01-24-27-31-62 and Powerball number was 20.

Though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, some players still walked away with big money. 14 third prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. 4 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!

Other prizes won Monday evening included 295 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 86 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! Other prizes won Monday evening included 681 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 204 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.

Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. To play Powerball, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 then choose one Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which increases the prizes but not grand prize. The overall odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball jackpot are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments in 29 years.
