The jackpot in the Powerball multistate lottery game continues climbing and will be up to an estimated $260,000,000 for the next drawing on Saturday. The cash option stands at $$123 million. The amount was rolled over because nobody matched all 6 numbers to win the $240,000,000 jackpot Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 drawing were 01-23-25-28-61 and Powerball was 13.
Although there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. 15 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. 3 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!
Additional winners Wednesday night included 213 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 72 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, and also bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 608 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 240 additional players not only matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine different prize levels, there were 444,307 tickets across the nation won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 drawing.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Powerball lottery uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. The minimum Powerball grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
