Nobody hit the jackpot. Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $93,000,000

Without a jackpot winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has rolled over its grand prize to $93,000,000 for Tuesday night's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $$46 million. No one matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number to win the $77,000,000 grand prize Friday. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is going to be at 10:59 PM Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday night, September 27th, 2024 were 29-46-53-69-70 with Mega Ball 23 and Megaplier 2.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 6 3rd prize lucky winners. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other winners Friday night included 181 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 420 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 797,002 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, September 27th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. One example is, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery does not offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
