No jackpot ticket sold last night. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $336,000,000

There has been another roll-over in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions - to $336,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $$151.3 million. The jackpot grew since no player hit all 6 winning numbers from Tuesday night's $302,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, September 2nd, 2025 were 07-17-35-40-64 with Mega Ball 23 and Megaplier X. No one won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past 46 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. A total of 11 lucky tickets won the 3rd prize. Among them, 11 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 234 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. 603 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were 719,985 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and D.C. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may select one time lump sum cash payout instead.
As opposed to other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three jurisdictons. Such as, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
