The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $650,000,000

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $650,000,000. The cash option will be $$304.1 million up for grab. The prize amount was rolled over since nobody hit all 6 winning numbers in Friday's $625,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions drawing is Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday, October 17th, 2025 drawing were 09, 21, 27, 48, 56 and the Mega Ball was 10, Megaplier was . Nobody won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 59 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 9 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. Among them, 9 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prizes. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 then pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
In contrast to other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This causes different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other lotteries.
