Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $541,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $541,000,000. The cash value will be an estimated $$257.6 million up for grab. The prize amount was rolled over because nobody matched all 6 numbers in Friday's $514,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions game drawing is Tuesday night. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, November 29th, 2024 were 03-29-34-37-38 and the Mega Ball was 17, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 23 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.A single lucky player from TX won the $800 million grand prize in Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 drawing.
Though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was a single second prize winner from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers except the Mega Ball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in OR won $1,000,000 cash each.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prizes. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
Not like other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other jurisdictons.
