Huge Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased since nobody matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number from Tuesday night's $289,000,000 drawing. The next grand prize climbed to $308,000,000 for Friday night's drawing. The cash value stands at $$142.1 million. The numbers from Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 drawing were 17-22-25-30-38 and the Mega Ball was 24, Megaplier was 4.
While the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was only one ticket that matched the first five numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in NJ, each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 18 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 330 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 725 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot in North American lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and select one Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can select one lump sum cash payout option instead.
As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other states. Such as, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
