Mega Millions jackpot increases to $361,000,000 Tuesday, November 12th, 2024; 1 second prize ticket sold

There has been another rollover in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions lottery - to $361,000,000. The cash option will be a projected $$169.2 million up for grab. The grand prize grew since no one matched all 6 winning numbers from Friday night's $334,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers from Friday night, November 8th, 2024 were 25, 28, 42, 64, 69 with Mega Ball 19 and Megaplier X3.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was a single ticket that matched the first five lotto numbers and won the second prize. The 1 lucky ticket(s) bought in MI, each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 13 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday night included 284 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 797 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were 1,334,318 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, November 8th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game offered in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Not like other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a set value. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other states. Such as, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
