Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $344,000,000; 1 player matched the first 5 numbers

There was no ticket sold with all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in the latest multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw, and the estimated jackpot for Tuesday's drawing will rise to $344,000,000, lottery officials announced. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$161.5 million. The numbers from Friday, March 21st, 2025 drawing were 15, 22, 31, 52, 57 with Mega Ball number 02 and Megaplier X3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 18 draws since Tuesday, January 21st, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in AZ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
While the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There was a single lucky ticket correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 1 lucky ticket(s) purchased in IN, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 15 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 299 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. There were 715 tickets that matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With 9 prize tiers, there were 1,138,716 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 21st, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. To play, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
