Massive Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot increased because no one hit all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number from Friday night's $815,000,000 drawing. The next grand prize moved to $875,000,000 for Tuesday night's drawing. The cash value will be a projected $$413.5 million. The winning numbers from Friday night, March 15th, 2024 were 13-25-50-51-66 and the Mega Ball was 06, Megaplier was 5. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 28 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
Although the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was a single lucky ticket correctly matched the first five lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in NY won a million dollar cash each.
In addition, 30 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Friday evening included 723 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 1955 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were 3,174,200 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 15th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions grand prize are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may select one lump sum cash payout instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three lotteries. Such as, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
