Mega Millions jackpot rises to $50 million Friday, June 25th, 2021; Two second prize tickets sold

Friday's Mega Millions grand prize moved to $50 million, since nobody hit all six winning numbers drawn Tuesday night. The cash value for Friday stands at $34.9 million up for grab. Tuesday's $40 million is the total grand prize amount - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annuity. The numbers from Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021 drawing were 01-26-48-51-59 with Mega Ball 25 and Megaplier 4.
Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were two tickets that matched the first 5 white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The two lucky ticket(s) purchased in , each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 9 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 200 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 600 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
Not like other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three jurisdictons.
