No jackpot winning ticket sold last night. Mega Millions jackpot increases to $40 million Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery grand prize rised to $40 million (lump-sum cash payout $28.2 million) Tuesday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $30 million drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers drawn Friday night, June 18th, 2021 were 14-36-44-46-53 with Mega Ball number 18 and Megaplier x2.
Though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were a total of 6 3rd prize lucky winning tickets. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other winners Friday night included 213 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 613 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 ways to win, there were 909,440 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, June 18th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
Compared with other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. For instance, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
