The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $306,000,000

There has been another rollover in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions game - to $306,000,000. The cash option stands at a projected $$143.8 million up for grab. The grand prize grew because no one matched all 6 numbers from Tuesday night's $279,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers from Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024 drawing were 03-09-14-26-51 with Mega Ball number 21 and Megaplier X4. Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past 14 draws since Friday, June 7th, 2024.One lucky winner from IL walked away with $560 million grand prize in Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 drawing.
While the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were two second prize winners from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The two lucky ticket(s) sold in CT,VA, each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Tuesday night included 16 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 564 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Contrary to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other jurisdictons.
