No jackpot winning ticket sold. Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since no player correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Millions number in Friday's drawing, the grand prize will increase to $707,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout will be $$307.7 million. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, July 17th, 2026 were 22, 34, 45, 48, 55 and the Mega Ball was 14, Megaplier was .
While the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 9 lucky players won the third prize. These included 9 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 222 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. There were 687 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were a total of 802,226 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, July 17th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players in prize winnings. About 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other lotteries. As an example, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
