Nobody matched all six numbers. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $94 million

There were no tickets sold hit all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in the last multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the projected grand prize for Friday's drawing will grow to $94 million, according to lottery officials. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $66.7 million. The numbers from Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 drawing were 18, 47, 63, 68, 69 and the Mega Ball was 14, Megaplier was 3.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. A total of 11 lucky winners won the third prize. These included 11 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 218 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. There were 588 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 995,812 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot in United States lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The overall odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions jackpot are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
Contrary to other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other states. Such as, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
