Mega Millions jackpot increases to $70,000,000 Tuesday, July 8th, 2025; 1 second prize ticket sold

The multi-state Mega Millions lottery jackpot has climbed to an estimated $70,000,000 dollars after there was no grand prize winner in Friday's drawing. The cash option stands at an estimated $$31.3 million. The winning numbers from Friday night, July 4th, 2025 were 17, 20, 24, 41, 42 with Mega Ball number 24 and Megaplier x. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 29 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Although the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There was a sole second prize winning ticket from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all 5 numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in GA will collect a million dollar cash each.
Other prizes won Friday evening included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 99 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 323 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
