Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $333,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The multi-state Mega Millions game grand prize has built to an estimated $333,000,000 dollars after there was no grand prize winner in Tuesday's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$160.1 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 drawing were 03-05-16-58-59 and the Mega Ball was 11, Megaplier was 4. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for fifteen draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was a sole ticket that correctly matched all 5 numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in PA, each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional major winners Tuesday evening included 16 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 331 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. 989 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Mega Millions game is played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
Compared with other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. By way of example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
