The estimated jackpot for Friday night's drawing was $187,000,000. According to Mega Millions, no player matched every number and the grand prize built to a projected $208,000,000. The cash option stands at $$101.5 million. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, January 12th, 2024 were 19, 34, 35, 45, 67 with Mega Ball 07 and Megaplier 3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 10 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 9 third prize lucky winning tickets. Among them, 9 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 284 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 778 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine prize tiers, there were a total of 1,375,998 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, January 12th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions game is played in 43 states and D.C. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
Compared with other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other lotteries. One example is, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
