Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $458,000,000; 2 second prize tickets sold

The lottery official announced that the Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, Mega Millions drawing resulted in a rollover, generating an $458,000,000 jackpot for the next drawing Friday. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $$212.4 million. The numbers from Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 drawing were 12, 39, 43, 49, 55 with Mega Ball number 23 and Megaplier x.
While there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were 2 lucky tickets matched the first five lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 2 lucky ticket(s) bought in , each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 10 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 172 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 453 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 567,826 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Unlike other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other 43 lotteries. One example is, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
