Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rises to $54 million; 1 second prize ticket sold

The Mega Millions game jackpot increased since nobody hit all 6 winning numbers from Tuesday night's $42 million drawing. The next jackpot rised to $54 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash value will be a projected $39.7 million up for grab. The numbers from Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 drawing were 13, 37, 38, 40, 67 with Mega Ball number 10 and Megaplier 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 761 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
While the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There was a single lucky winner matched all 5 numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 15 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 266 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 794 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were 1,336,554 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
