Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $138,000,000; 1 second prize ticket sold

The Mega Millions game jackpot increased because no player matched all six winning numbers from Friday night's $125,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot went to $138,000,000 for Tuesday night's drawing. The cash option will be a projected $$63.3 million. The winning numbers from Friday, December 26th, 2025 drawing were 09-19-31-63-64 with Mega Ball number 07 and Megaplier . The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 79 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a sole ticket that correctly matched the first 5 lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in will collect a million dollar cash each.
Also, 5 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional winners Friday night included 173 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 556 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 667,272 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, December 26th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
Contrary to other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 states. Such as, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
