By then the estimated grand prize is expected to go to $150,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $$67.9 million. Contrary to other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a set value. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. As an example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
