Massive Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

There were no tickets sold with all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number in the last multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the projected grand prize for Tuesday's drawing will leap to $345 million, lottery officials announced. The cash option will be a projected $234.6 million. The numbers from Friday, April 30th, 2021 drawing were 08, 19, 26, 48, 49 and the Mega Ball was 05, Megaplier was 3.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were 2 second prize winning tickets from Friday night's drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The 2 lucky ticket(s) bought in , each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 25 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday evening included 618 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1629 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 ways to win, there were a total of 2,191,214 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 30th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game can be played in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and select a Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other 43 Mega Millions states. For instance, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
