Nobody won the jackpot. Big Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery jackpot increased to $257,000,000 (cash value $$115.6 million) Tuesday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $228,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Friday night, April 26th, 2024 were 15-23-53-57-61 with Mega Ball number 09 and Megaplier x3. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 9 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.A single lucky player from NJ walked away with $0 million top prize in Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 drawing.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. A total of 12 lucky tickets won the third prize. These included 12 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 289 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 744 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize levels, there were 1,372,838 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 26th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game can be played in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record highest jackpot in North American lottery history. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 then choose a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three states. One example is, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
