The Mega Millions multi-state lottery grand prize climbed to $163,000,000 (cash option $$72.9 million) Tuesday night when there were no top prize winners in the $150,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Friday, April 24th, 2026 drawing were 07-16-32-35-40 and the Mega Ball was 12, Megaplier was .
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 8 lucky players won the third prize. These included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 130 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. 330 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine different prize tiers, there were 427,366 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 24th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 and select one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. For example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
