Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $97,000,000; Three tickets won the second prize

The grand prize in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery drawing leaped to $97,000,000 for the Tuesday drawing. The cash value stands at a projected $$45 million up for grab. None of the tickets sold for Friday's $67,000,000 drawing matched five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number. The winning numbers from Friday, April 5th, 2024 drawing were 20, 30, 54, 63, 65 with Mega Ball 14 and Megaplier X3.
While there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There were three second prize winners from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The three second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,FL,PA will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
In addition, 12 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. In addition, 260 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 792 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.

Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
Not like other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other jurisdictons.
