Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot breaks to $113,000,000; 1 player won the second prize

The multi-state Mega Millions lottery grand prize has jumped to an estimated $113,000,000 dollars after there was no jackpot winner in Friday's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $60.3 million. The winning numbers from Friday, May 12th, 2023 drawing were 01-02-23-40-45 and the Mega Ball was 15, Megaplier was 3.
Although there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was a sole 2nd prize winning ticket from Friday night's drawing, matching the first 5 lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in FL will collect a million dollar cash each.
Other prizes won Friday evening included 3 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other winners Friday evening included 239 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. There were 584 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Unlike other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 states. One example is, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery.
