No one matched all 6 numbers. Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $26,000,000 Tuesday

Tuesday's Mega Millions lottery jackpot is going to be worth $26,000,000 (cash option $$13.7 million), since no one matched all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number in Friday night's drawing. The numbers from Friday, April 21st, 2023 drawing were 03-21-29-46-63 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 3.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. A total of 6 lucky players won the 3rd prize. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other winners Friday evening included 169 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 532 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were 818,774 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, April 21st, 2023 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
Contrary to other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. For instance, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
